Description

Recipe for traditional homemade oatmeal porridge (for one bowl)


Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp (1/2 cup) instant oats - or quick oats - about 50 g
  • 100 ml (1/3 cup) water
  • 100 ml (1/3 cup) milk
  • 1 tsp. sugar - maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Place instant oats, water, milk, sugar and vanilla in a saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes while stirring until it boils and the texture looks like mush.
  3. Serve immediately in a bowl and add your fruits, seeds and nuts.

Notes

Storage: Up to 2 days in the refrigerator.

You can use only milk or water.

Add a few pieces of baked chocolate or chocolate chips to make a chocolate oatmeal porridge.

To flavor it with spices add ground cinnamon or other spices to the saucepan.
