Rich and creamy hot chocolate made with real chocolate, topped with whipped cream and marshmallows — the perfect cozy drink for cold days. (Makes 2–3 cups)
Ingredients
Hot Chocolate
- 500 ml (2 cups) milk – or plant-based milk
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp brown sugar – or maple syrup/honey
- 100 g (4 oz) semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Whipped Cream
- 200 ml (¾ cup) cold heavy cream
- 1 tbsp confectioner’s sugar (sifted)

Instructions
Hot Chocolate
- Whisk cocoa, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan.
- Slowly pour in the milk while whisking, then heat over medium.
- Bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
- Add chocolate and stir until fully melted and smooth (about 5 min).
- Remove from heat and pour into mugs.
Whipped Cream
- Beat cold heavy cream + confectioner’s sugar on medium until soft peaks.
- Spoon or pipe over the hot chocolate, add marshmallows, enjoy warm.
Notes
Storage: Reheat on low heat, whisking until smooth. Avoid boiling to keep the texture creamy.
