Make the best chocolate babka recipe, a perfectly soft and rich brioche dough filled with a delicious homemade chocolate sauce.

Step 1 : Rehydrate the yeast

Add the active dry yeast to the warm milk . Stir with a spoon and let stand for 10 minutes.

Step 2 : Brioche dough

Mix all the ingredients together in the bowl of your stand mixer with the dough hook until you have a smooth ball. Then let the dough rise for 2 hours at room temperature.

Step 3 : Chocolate filling

Place all ingredients in a bowl, softened butter, brown sugar, cocoa powder, chopped chocolate and heat in microwave

Step 4 : Fill the brioche

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to form a large rectangle. Spread the chocolate filling over the entire surface of the dough.

Step 5 : Roll the dough

Gently roll the dough with your hands to form a long sausage.

Step 6 : Cut in half

Cut the dough sausage in 2 with a large knife along the length.

Step 6 : Braid the babka

Form a cross with the two pieces of dough then cross the ends to braid the dough.

Step 7 : Let the babka rise

Place the brioche in a loaf pan and let it grow at room temperature for 1 hour.

Step 8 : Bake in the oven

Brush on a layer of egg wash. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F until the babka is golden brown on top. Let them cool down a bit.

Step 9 : Enjoy !
