Description

Ingredients

  • 250 g (1½ cups) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 150 g (⅔ cup) unsalted butter
  • 200 g (1 cup) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 90 g (¾ cup) all-purpose flour
  • 30 g (¼ cup + 1 tbsp) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter together, using a double boiler or the microwave, until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk the eggs, sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer for 1–2 minutes, until thick and glossy.
  4. Add the melted chocolate mixture and mix just until combined.
  5. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then fold gently into the batter until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes, until the edges are set and the center remains slightly soft.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely before cutting into 16 squares.
