Ingredients

  • 1 kg (5-6) Apples - Golden or Royal Gala
  • 100 ml (1/3 cup) water - or apple juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice - optional
  • 1 tsp cinnamon ground
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

  1. Start by removing the skin from the apples, remove the center and seeds and cut into small pieces.
  2. Put the apples chunks, water, vanilla extract and cinnamon ground in a medium saucepan.
  3. Cook for 10 minutes if you want to leave some chunks and 20 minutes for a smooth consistency. Mix with a wooden spoon throughout the cooking process.
  4. Remove from the heat and let the mixture cool a little.
  5. For a smooth texture, place the mixture in your food processor or use a immersion blender
  6. Then transfer the applesauce to a large glass jar with a tight-fitting lid and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Conservation: one week in the refrigerator in a jar with a lid or up to 3 months in the freezer.
