Description

Recipe for hot cocoa mug cake, a quick chocolate cake made with hot cocoa powder and chocolate chips, cooked in the microwave.

(For 1 mug / 1 serving)


Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp (1/4 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp hot cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 tbsp (1/4 cup) milk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, hot cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt directly in the mug.
  2. Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla, then stir until smooth.
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Microwave for 1 to 1½ minutes (600–800W) until just set.
  5. Rest briefly, then enjoy with your favorite topping.

Notes

Storage: Best eaten immediately. This mug cake does not store well once cooked.
