Description
Recipe for an easy old-fashioned apple galette recipe with sweet shortcrust pastry, applesauce, and melting apples (for a 10-inch/25 cm tart, about 10 parts)
Ingredients
Pie crust :
- 1 sheet of my shortcrust pastry
Apple filling :
- 3 - 4 Apples
- 4 - 5 tbsp applesauce
- Brown sugar - or cane sugar
Instructions
Pie crust :
- Follow my recipe for shortcrust pastry, respecting the quantities suitable for a 10 inches / 25 cm tart.
Assembly and cooking :
- Preheat your oven to 350°F / 180°C and prepare a baking sheet.
- Roll out your dough with a rolling pin between 2 sheets of parchment paper to a thickness of about 3 mm.
- Remove the parchment paper from the top and place the dough disk on the prepared baking sheet.
- Fill the center of the dough with applesauce, leaving a 5 cm border of dough.
- Place apple slices on top of the dough.
- Fold the edges over the apples.
- Sprinkle the whole pie with brown sugar.
- Bake the apple pie for about 34-40 minutes until it is golden brown on top and the apples are tender.
- Let the apple galette cool before moving it to a large serving dish.
- Serve slightly warm or cold.
Notes
Storage: Approximately 4-5 days in the refrigerator and up to 3 months in the freezer.
