- 1 sheet Puff pastry - 3-4 tbsp Apple Sauce - 4 Apples - Cane sugar
Prepare my recipe for traditional French homemade puff pastry or take a roll of store-bought puff pastry.
Cook apples with lemon juice and sugar in a saucepan until thick. Blend to reduce to applesauce.
Roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of 3 mm and cut into rectangles. Spread a thin layer of applesauce, leaving a border of a few centimetres.
Arrange beautifully your apples, first cut into quarters and then into thin slices (leave the skin on if you wish).
Sprinkle the top with cane sugar and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F/180°C for 35 minutes until golden brown.
Leave to cool a little, and enjoy slightly warmer with salted caramel sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
