- Milk - Fresh pumpkin puree - Black tea bags - Maple syrup - Chai spices - Pumpkin pie spices - Vanilla extract
- Saucepan - Hand milk frother or this milk steamer for a frothy latte
In a saucepan, combine the black tea bags with the chai spices, maple syrup, vanilla extract and water and leave to infuse for 10 minutes without boiling.
Add the homemade pumpkin purée and pumpkin pie spice and stir to blend.
Finish with your milk and stir to obtain a smooth, warm mixture.
Pour the hot mixture into a large mug.
In a small bowl, use a hand milk frother to blend the cold heavy cream until thick and pour over the pumpkin chai latte.
1. Use quality ingredients, seasonal pumpkin or frozen pumpkin for extra flavor, a good milk of your choice neutral in taste, and a well-balanced blend of spices. 2. Blend with a blender or an immersion blender if you're making homemade pumpkin puree to obtain a smooth, creamy drink. 3. Leave the tea bag and spices to infuse for at least 5 minutes to extract maximum chai flavor, and take care not to boil them, as this may leave a bitter aftertaste.
Serve warm with a pinch of ground cinnamon and enjoy.
