    Serving Suggestions

    • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a hot-and-cold contrast.
    • Top with whipped cream and drizzle with warm Nutella.
    • Sprinkle chopped hazelnuts or chocolate chips for extra crunch.
    • Add fresh berries for a fruity twist.

    Tip for best results

    • Use a microwave-safe mug that holds at least 12 oz to avoid overflow.
    • Mix just until combined — overmixing makes it dense.
    • Cook 1 minute first, then in 10-second bursts if needed.
    • Let it rest 1–2 minutes before eating; it keeps cooking slightly.
    • Always weigh your ingredients for best texture.

    Variations & Substitutions

    • Peanut Butter Twist: Swirl in a spoonful of peanut butter with the Nutella.
    • Lava Center: Add extra Nutella or a chocolate square in the middle for a molten heart.
    • Banana Version: Mix in half a mashed banana for a moist, fruity touch.
    • Mocha Flavor: Add 1 tsp instant coffee for a Nutella mocha mug cake.
Double Chocolate: Stir in a few chocolate chips for extra richness.

    Recipe Questions

Can I make this mug cake without eggs?

Yes, this recipe doesn’t need eggs — the texture stays soft and fudgy.

Can I use another spread instead of Nutella?

Absolutely, any chocolate hazelnut or cookie butter spread works.

Why is my mug cake dry or rubbery?

It’s usually overcooked — microwave for 1 minute first, then add 10-second bursts if needed.

    Can I make it vegan?

Yes, use almond milk and a dairy-free chocolate spread.

Loved it! Super quick and gooey, just how I like it. Maybe I’ll try a little less sugar next time.
