    Serving Suggestions

This easy strawberry mug cake is delicious on its own or topped with your favorite toppings.

    • Fresh sliced strawberries.
    • A dollop of whipped cream.
    • A scoop of vanilla ice cream.
    • A drizzle of strawberry sauce or homemade strawberry compote.
    • White chocolate chips or melted white chocolate.
    • A dusting of powdered sugar.
    • Vanilla yogurt for a lighter dessert.

    Storage

This mug cake is best enjoyed warm, but leftovers can be covered and refrigerated for up to 1 day.

    Recipe Variations

    • Add white chocolate chips for extra sweetness.
    • Use raspberries or blueberries instead of strawberries.
    • Stir in a spoonful of strawberry jam for a stronger berry flavor.
    • Add lemon zest for a fresh, citrusy twist.
    • Sprinkle with sliced almonds before serving.
    • Top with cream cheese frosting for a cupcake-style dessert.
    • Swap fresh strawberries for frozen strawberries (thawed and patted dry).

    Recipe Questions

    Can I use frozen strawberries?

Yes. Thaw and pat them dry before adding them to the batter to avoid excess moisture.

How long should I microwave a mug cake?

Most microwave mug cakes take about 90 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on the power of your microwave.

Why is my mug cake rubbery?

Overcooking is the most common cause. Microwave only until the center is just set.

What size mug should I use?

A 10 to 12 oz (300–350 ml) microwave-safe mug works best to prevent the batter from overflowing.

Can I make this mug cake ahead of time?

This recipe is best enjoyed immediately after cooking while it's warm, soft, and fluffy.

Can I make this strawberry mug cake without eggs?

Yes! This recipe is naturally egg-free and still bakes up soft, fluffy, and moist in the microwave.
