    Tips for this recipe

    • Use Full-Fat Cream Cheese: Opt for full-fat cream cheese for a richer and creamier texture in your Oreo balls.
    • Crush Oreos Finely: Ensure the Oreos are crushed into fine crumbs to achieve a smooth consistency in the mixture.
    • Chill the Mixture: Refrigerate the Oreo and cream cheese mixture for at least 30 minutes before shaping into balls. This will make the mixture easier to handle and shape.
    • Use a Melon Baller or Scoop: Use a melon baller or cookie scoop to portion out the Oreo mixture evenly and create uniform-sized balls.
    • Freeze Before Dipping: After shaping the Oreo balls, freeze them for 15-20 minutes before dipping them in melted white chocolate. This will help the chocolate coating set quickly and evenly.
    • Tap Off Excess Chocolate: When dipping the Oreo balls in white chocolate, tap off any excess chocolate to ensure a smooth and even coating.

    Storage instructions

At room temperature: Store Oreo cake balls for up to two weeks, placed in an airtight container box with a tight-fitting lid or in a glass jar.

How to freeze: You can also keep them for up to 3 months in the freezer, and let them slowly come back to room temperature.

    Variations & Substitutions

    • Peanut Butter Oreo Balls: Mix creamy peanut butter into the Oreo and cream cheese mixture for a deliciously nutty flavor.
    • Mint Chocolate Oreo Balls: Add mint extract to the Oreo mixture and coat the balls in melted dark chocolate for a refreshing twist.
    • Cookie Dough Oreo Balls: Mix in chunks of cookie dough into the Oreo mixture for a decadent cookie dough-filled treat.
    • Salted Caramel Oreo Balls: Drizzle melted caramel over the coated Oreo balls and sprinkle with sea salt for a sweet and salty combination.
    • Red Velvet Oreo Balls: Use red velvet Oreos and cream cheese for a vibrant red velvet-flavored Oreo ball, coated in white chocolate.
    • Coconut Oreo Balls: Mix shredded coconut into the Oreo mixture and coat the balls in melted milk chocolate for a tropical twist.
    • White Chocolate: Add melted white chocolate to bind the powdered cookies or use it as a coating, similar to these white chocolate truffles.
