As a longtime baker, I make Oreo balls often for holidays and dessert trays — this version is my most reliable no-bake recipe.

Creamy inside and crisp on the outside, these Oreo balls taste like little cookies-and-cream truffles in every bite.

With just three ingredients, these no bake Oreo balls come together fast for holidays, dessert trays, or last-minute gifts.

    Why you'll love this recipe

    • 3 Ingredients Only: Simple, quick, and no baking required.
    • Rich & Creamy Texture: Soft Oreo filling with a smooth chocolate shell.
    • Perfect Anytime: Great for holidays, birthdays, or dessert platters.

    Ingredients for Oreo Balls

    • Oreo cookies: Classic Oreos, crushed into fine crumbs for that cookies-and-cream flavor.
    • Cream cheese: Full-fat block cream cheese for a smooth, fudgy Oreo ball filling.
    • Chocolate coating: Melted dark, milk, or white chocolate chips (or candy melts) to cover the Oreo balls.

    Tips for this recipe

    • Use full-fat cream cheese for the creamiest Oreo truffle texture.
    • Crush the Oreos very finely so the Oreo balls hold their shape.
    • Chill the rolled Oreo balls before dipping for an easier, smoother coating.
    • Thin thick melted chocolate with a little coconut oil or neutral oil.
    • Let the coated Oreo balls set in the fridge for a firm, glossy shell.

    How to make Oreo balls

This easy Oreo balls recipe starts with crushed cookies and cream cheese to create a smooth no-bake truffle mixture.

Crush the Oreos: Place the cookies in a food processor and blend into fine crumbs for the Oreo ball mixture.

Mix the filling: Add the cream cheese and mix until the Oreo crumbs turn into a smooth, sticky dough.

Mixing bowl with Oreo truffles batter

Shape the balls: Scoop and roll into small Oreo balls, then chill them in the fridge or freezer for 15–20 minutes.

Hand rolling Oreo balls before dipping in chocolate

Melt the chocolate: Gently melt dark, milk, or white chocolate in a bowl until smooth and fluid.

Coat and decorate: Dip each chilled Oreo ball in melted chocolate, place on parchment paper, and top with crushed Oreos or sprinkles. Let the Oreo balls set before serving.

    Recipe Variations

These Oreo ball variations let you customize the classic no-bake recipe with different flavors, coatings, and textures.

    • Oreo truffles – Same recipe but rolled smaller for bite-size Oreo truffles.
    • Oreo cheesecake balls – Use flavored cream cheese for a cheesecake-style filling.
    • Oreo balls without cream cheese – Swap in chocolate frosting or mascarpone.
    • Oreo balls without chocolate – Roll in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or Oreo crumbs.
    • Valentine Oreo balls – Dip in white chocolate and add pink or red sprinkles.

    Recipe Questions

Can I make Oreo balls without a food processor?

Yes, place the cookies in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin until fine crumbs form.

Can I make Oreo balls without cream cheese?

You can swap cream cheese for thick chocolate frosting, mascarpone, or even Nutella, but the texture will be a bit softer.

Do I have to dip them in chocolate?

No, you can roll the Oreo balls in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or extra Oreo crumbs instead of using melted chocolate.

How long do Oreo balls keep?

Store Oreo balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4–5 days, or freeze them for up to 1 month.

These Oreo balls are perfect! The texture is super easy to roll, not too dry, and the toothpick trick for dipping them in chocolate is brilliant. Thank you for this delicious recipe!
