    Turmeric Latte - Golden Milk

by Fadela on Jul 5, 2022 (updated Nov 25, 2025)

A cozy homemade golden milk latte made with almond milk, ground turmeric, warm spices, vanilla, and a hint of maple syrup.

2 cups with turmeric milk and spices

Golden milk latte is a warm turmeric drink made with milk, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper — a cozy Indian-inspired latte known for its creamy texture and golden color.

This turmeric latte has a smooth, lightly sweet flavor with warm spices and simple ingredients that taste even better homemade than from a coffee shop.

    Why you'll love this recipe

    • Cozy & comforting – A warm golden drink that instantly relaxes.
    • Quick & easy – Ready in minutes with simple pantry spices.
    • Creamy & flavorful – Smooth, velvety, and packed with turmeric goodness.

    Ingredients You Need

    • Turmeric: Use ground turmeric for best flavor and color.
    • Spices: Add cinnamon, ginger, and a pinch of black pepper to boost turmeric absorption.
    • Sweetener: Maple syrup or honey to balance the warm spices.
    • Vanilla: A little vanilla extract for extra flavor.
    • Milk: Any milk works — dairy, almond, oat, soy, or coconut for a richer latte.
    Bowls with ingredients

    Tips for this recipe

    • Use fresh spices – Turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon taste better and boost benefits.
    • Add black pepper – Helps your body absorb curcumin from turmeric.
    • Warm gently – Don’t boil the milk to keep flavor and nutrients.
    • Froth or whisk – Gives a creamy, coffee-shop texture.
    • Optional coconut oil – Adds richness and makes the latte extra smooth.

How to make the golden milk latte

Add the spices to a small saucepan — turmeric, cinnamon, ginger.

Mix in maple syrup and vanilla (and a pinch of black pepper if you like).

    Casserole with spices and sugar

Pour in the milk and warm for about 5 minutes over medium heat to let the spices infuse.

Enjoy! Pour the golden milk into your mug and sip warm.

    Recipe Variations

    • Turmeric Chai Latte – Add cardamom, cloves, and black tea for a chai-style version.
    • Iced golden milk – Chill the infused milk and serve over ice.
    • Turmeric Espresso Latte – Add a shot of espresso for a stronger latte.
    • Golden Milk Smoothie – Blend with banana and yogurt for a creamy smoothie.
    • Chocolate Golden Latte – Mix in cocoa powder for a cozy chocolate twist.

    Recipe Questions

    Can I use fresh turmeric?

Yes, but ground turmeric blends more smoothly and gives a stronger color.

    Do I need black pepper?

A pinch boosts turmeric absorption, but the recipe works without it.

    Which milk works best?

Any milk works—almond, oat, soy, or whole milk. Coconut milk gives the creamiest texture.

    Can I make it sugar-free?

Yes, use a sugar-free sweetener or skip the sweetener entirely.

Can I make golden milk ahead of time?

Yes. Store it in the fridge for 2–3 days and reheat gently.
