Material you need for this recipe
With a juicer extractor
To make this simple green juice recipe, use a quality vertical juicer extractor, mine is a Biochef and it performs great. It squeezes at a slow speed which separates the fibers from the liquids and preserves a maximum of nutrients.
Your juices will be as good as the ones you can buy in the shops, with a super tasty and nutritious taste and above all you will be able to choose what it is made of.
With a blender
If you don't have a juicer then use a blender that will uniquely mix to reduce its drink. And you can always strain your mixture through a nut milk bag or a fine-mesh sieve to separate all the fibers from the fruit and vegetables and keep only the liquid.
Using the blender will mix at high speed the green juice recipe which will destroy a large part of the nutrients a bit like the heat during cooking.

Which vegetables and fruits for this recipe
This is my favorite green juice recipe, I use the same ingredients every week and adapt them according to the season's products. While keeping the proportion of an ideal ingredient between which is around 20% fruits for 80% vegetables. (you can easily modify these proportions for a sweeter drink)
For an ideal composition of a green juice recipe with a natural sweetness and a fresh tasting without feeling too much the green veggies taste :
- Cucumber
- Green apples (Use fresh apples, not apple juice, or green grapes, fresh pears instead, not too ripe)
- Dark leafy greens vegetables (spinach leaves or baby spinach, kale, Chinese cabbage,...)
- Kiwi
- Green lemon juice (¼ lemon)
- Ginger (for its benefits on the immune system)
- Zucchini
- Celery or fennel (very strong attention in taste)
- Parsley, mint leaves, nettles (super support for body detox)
Tip: The skin contains a lot of nutrients and vitamins so use organic produce to keep the skin and get the maximum benefit from your homemade juice.

How to make a detox juice
- Start by cleaning under cold water all ingredients you use and preserve the skin because it contains a lot of vitamins and minerals (especially if you use organic products).
- Then using a cutting board and a large knife, cut your fruits, apples, kiwi, lemon and vegetables, spinach, cucumber, kale, ginger and others into small pieces. (small enough to fit into your extractor, use the whole vegetables and fruits (also the seeds).
- Begin by passing the leafy greens, baby spinach leaves, and Chinese cabbage through and accompany it with pieces of cucumber or apples to make it easier to get into the extractor. (to avoid blocking)
- Then continue by passing all the fruits and vegetables alternately and this until you get a green juice more or less dark green and that all the pulp is well out.
- You can drink your juice immediately or pour it into a glass bottle with a lid and place it in the refrigerator. (to be drunk fresh or add ice cubes)
Tip: You can recover the leftover pulp and use it in your savory dishes, like in a quiche, breads etc.
How to make green juice in a blender
- Place all washed and pitted ingredients in the bowl of a blender.
- Mix on high speed for a good minute until you get a smooth texture.
- Your green smoothie is ready to be enjoyed very cold!
Tip: to remove the fibers, strain the whole preparation in a nut milk bag or use a fine-mesh strainer. For a tasty smoothie version, you can add a vegetable drink or coconut water to your preparation.

Frequently asked questions
Le conserver au frigo et il doit être consommer dans les 48 heures.

Yes, it is quite possible in addition of course to a balanced diet you can drink 1 - 2 juices per day.
The juice extractor is always the best choice because it is more efficient to recuperate the juice while keeping a maximum of nutrients and it also separates the fibers. The blender will mix the vegetables and you will have to use a milk bag to filter the liquid and remove the fibers.
Conservation
The green juice recipes can be kept for a limited time, about 2 days maximum, and exclusively in the refrigerator.
After that, you will start to notice that the color of the juice turns more towards khaki green.
This is a sign that the juice has lost some of its nutrients and this is also noticeable in the taste.

Never put fruits in detox juices with vegetables, because fruits are digested in the small intestine and not in the stomach like vegetables. It is counter productive. It creates digestive disorders.
Hi Dou Lar, in detox juices raw vegetables can be mixed with raw fruits. Already for the taste it is advised to use 40 % fruits and 60 % vegetables. In addition, the extractor separates the fibers from the juice, so the detox juices without the fibers are completely digestible, letting the body absorb all the nutrients of vegetables and fruits and that by putting at rest the digestive system.
Moreover it is strongly recommended to people with digestive disorders (damaged digestive system) to make detox juices (without fiber), full of nutrients and anti-oxidant to clean the body while putting the digestion at rest.
Thanks for this recipe and the super advice, I've made it several times and the juice tastes great.
Thank you Nadine for your feedback on this recipe.
