This green detox smoothie is great because it is loaded with essential nutrients and vitamins for a natural energy boost. It helps cleanse the body of accumulated toxins and is also very effective for weight loss.

Green smoothie recipes are mostly made with a mixture of vegetables like spinach or kale, cucumber, and ginger which are full of nutrients and antioxidants.

Healthy smoothies are made with fruits for vitamins and fiber that naturally sweeten the smoothie like kiwi, apple, lime, and some tropical fruits that give a creamier texture like banana, pineapple, or mango.

Just combine all the smoothie ingredients in a good blender, using almond milk for a creamy texture. This easy blend gives you a delicious way to consume a hefty portion of veggies in one go!

    Tips for this recipe

    • Start with Fresh Ingredients: Use fresh, organic fruits and vegetables to maximize flavor and nutrients.
    • Balance Greens and Fruits: Maintain a balanced ratio of leafy greens (like spinach or kale) to fruits for a tasty and nutritious blend.
    • Don't Overdo It: Avoid excessive sweeteners or high-calorie additions to keep the smoothie healthy.
    • Use Frozen Ingredients: Freeze some of your ingredients (like bananas or berries) for a colder and thicker texture.
    • Blend Thoroughly: Ensure all ingredients are well-blended for a smooth and lump-free result.
    • Serve Immediately: Enjoy your green detox smoothie right after blending to preserve freshness and nutrients.

    Storage instructions

In the fridge: The detox smoothie must be consumed rather quickly as it is composed of fresh fruits and vegetables to benefit from the nutrients.

You can keep your detox smoothie in the fridge for a maximum of 24 hours, after which its color will start to turn brown which indicates that it is starting to lose its nutritional qualities.

    Variations & Substitutions

    • Add Seeds: Boost the nutritional value by incorporating seeds like chia seeds, flax seed, hemp seeds, or sunflower seeds for added texture and health benefits.
    • Go for Nut Butter: Enhance creaminess and flavor by including a spoonful of almond butter, peanut butter, or cashew butter.
    • Tropical green smoothie: Create a tropical green smoothie by adding ingredients like pineapple, frozen mango, and coconut water for a refreshing twist.
    • Protein-Packed: Opt for a protein-packed green smoothie by adding your favorite protein powder or Greek yogurt to keep you full and satisfied.
    • Breakfast Green Smoothie: A filling blend of oats, Greek yogurt, banana, spinach, and honey. Optionally, add protein powder for an extra morning boost.
    • Green Tea Smoothie: Refreshing green tea combined with spinach, frozen berries, lemon juice.
    • Matcha Green Smoothie: Vibrant matcha powder blended with spinach, banana, almond milk, and a touch of vanilla extract.
    • Creamy Avocado: Achieve an ultra-smooth texture and healthy fats by including ripe avocado in your green smoothie.
